Along with today being Tax Day here in the US, we have the following weeks here.
- Week 3 Organize Your Files Week
- Week 3 Medical Labs Week
- Week 4 Administrative Assistants Week
- Week 4 National Karaoke Week
My little ones won’t be interested in Medical Labs Week, nor Administrative Assistants week, but they LOVE to get into my paperwork, and fortunately I keep a separate set of files for their curriculum. I often however get a larger assortment of printables than needed and sometimes it’s useful to go through and remove duplicates or material that is out of date. They love helping out, and it’s a good thing to keep on top of.
They appreciate National Karaoke Week better though, whether it’s singing with the Karaoke machine at their MaMaw’s or pulling out the microphone and the Wii so they can sing along to High School Musical or other songs that have been played to death in our house. Speaking of course of the Disney Princess Karaoke disks, and a little research tells me that Amazon has quite a collection, and running down to any big box store should reveal a few more Karaoke CD’s for your child’s warbling pleasure…
Using Karaoke is a great way however to teach music, and if your child is artistically inclined, it’s a fantastic way to work on developing their vocal skills and give a natural outlet for their show boat side.
